Food Sensitivity Testing: IgG
The IgG antibodies attach themselves to the food antigen and create an antibody-antigen complex.
These complexes are normally removed by special cells called macrophages. However, if they are present in large numbers and the reactive food is still being consumed, the macrophages can’t remove them quickly enough. The food antigen-antibody complexes accumulate and are deposited in body tissues such as liver, kidney, intestine, gall bladder and interfere with the ability of these tissues to function optimally. Once in tissue, these complexes release inflammation causing chemicals, which may play a role in numerous diseases and conditions.
If IgG testing is done and the offending foods eliminated, the body is given an opportunity to establish health, nutrient status corrected such as mineral and protein deficiencies, as well as chronic conditions which can result from chronic inflammation in the digestive tract due to undiagnosed food sensitivities can be reversed or prevented such as anemia and osteoporosis.
